“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
Compassion International defines mercy as “forgiveness or withholding punishment” (2022). God is not waiting for you to mess up or make a mistake, so that He can “bring down the wrath of God”. It’s quite the opposite. God’s mercy extends second chance after second chance.
Elohe Chaseddi in its original language - greek - literally means the God of mercy. Because of this attribute of God, we can live unafraid. We have access to the peace of mind and a calmness within our spirit that only comes through a relationship with Him. He does not leave us or forsake us during troubling situations and challenging seasons. Even when we make a mistake, and we own up to our mistakes, He is always willing to forgive and stand in the gap for us. He will fight for you. He loves you.
Instead of worrying about yesterday, God offers us the opportunity to focus on a future that He has orchestrated for us. Amen!
