Deut. 32:4  He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just.A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.

A. W. Tozer summarizes holiness for us. He says:

Holy is the way God is. To be holy He does not conform to a standard. He is that standard. He is absolutely holy with an infinite, incomprehensible fullness of purity that is incapable of being other than it is. Because He is holy, His attributes are holy; that is, whatever we think of as belonging to God must be thought of as holy.

The entire passage is enough to be thankful for as believers, but there is one line that may take it over the top. “He is that standard”. I think it is worth saying one more time, God is the standard.

Many of us throughout life rely on norms, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to point us in the right direction. We are searching for a standard. Elohe Tsadeki means God of my righteousness. God, in his infinite wisdom, understands and cares about you. His desire is for you to prosper and not to fail.

In Isaiah 55:8-9, we are reminded that our thoughts are not His thoughts and our ways are not His ways. When we choose God, and enter into a relationship with Him, His ways are revealed, because He is morally true and the standard that dictates our behavior. Holiness is about character, but righteousness is about behavior.
